12.5 million or 1 out of every 6 children are at risk for hunger. 50 states and D.C. are home to food–insecure children (Feeding America, 2019). No Empty Bellies was created to provide meals to children in food insecure households. The No Empty Bellies bags get distributed in Title 1 Prince William County Schools. The bags are given to the school social workers or administrators and given to students in need on Fridays so they have food throughout the weekend.
The No Empty Bellies Bags include:
Cereal, granola bars, oatmeal, tuna, Chef Boyardee, water, crackers, Hormel meals, fruit snacks and juice.
